Please consider voting for the slate of candidates endorsed by Reading Votes. We endorse Chris Haley for Select Board and Dana Guarino for school committee.

What the Candidates Stand For
These candidates represent our ideals of common sense and are hardworking individuals with the best interests of Reading voters in mind. We are confident that they will make decisions based on facts and data. This year we are endorsing candidates based on their positions on the MBTA Communities Act and potential changes to Reading’s zoning bylaws. This state mandate has the potential to drastically change the community and have real impact on Reading’s character and identity, not to mention a litany of tangible implications for the schools, infrastructure, services, and other unforeseen issues.
We are advocating for a minimally compliant approach that lessens changing any single-family zone, while spreading out the zoning changes across existing high-density zoned areas and underutilized industrial and business zones. While these changes have their own impacts, they are less than what is currently being proposed by our town planners and CPDC.
We ask that you only vote for those recommended candidates even if you are allowed to vote for more, this will increase the chances of these candidates being elected.
